From Captain Payton

What a rough week it has been for those of us that love to fish. These storms have put a dampener (literally) on the week and made it mostly unfishable. We found a few days to get out there so far, and now the weekend is starting to look better and better each time I check the forecast. Here’s what I’ve got for y’all this week!

Red snapper bite was extremely hot this morning on dead bait. I think the first 5 drops we had 5 nice ones on ice as fast as our crew could reel them in. Try half of a frozen cigar minnow or chunk up some Bonita. Live bait hasn’t been worth bothering for the past couple weeks.

Mahi are still out there, hope they stick around for a while!

The mingo snapper are biting really well. Toss down some two hook rigs and try to get some of those if you’ve already got your limit, or if the reds aren’t cooperating.

The king bite continues to be slower unfortunately. Would love to have them heat up before the summer has come and gone!

Hoping we can all get out there and fish this weekend with some beautiful weather.

Tight lines y’all!
