From Captain Payton

Boy it’s been rough out there these last few weeks. Tons of strong winds keeping the boats at the docks or inshore. The last weekend of snapper was a total dud with the weather having strong winds sustained all weekend.

We have everyone had a great thanksgiving! We got a little inshore action this time of year. Bull minnows & live shrimp seem to be getting the job done with the black snapper. If it’s a north wind we will sometimes go catch small cigar minnows and throw them down for the black snapper as well on free lines inshore.

Sheepshead have been biting pretty well too. If there’s fiddle crabs at the bait shop, try throwing them down. Live shrimp is always a good catch all as well.

We’re looking forward to some good weather and fair winds soon hopefully!

Tight lines y’all!
