What’s biting in Destin, FL? Our captains have been out sailing all week and have the latest details on which fish are actively biting on the Emerald Coast.

Here’s what our captains have to report:

Bottom Fish Biting This Week

  • Vermilion Snapper
  • White Snapper

Troll/Sight Fish Biting This Week

  • Blackfin Tuna

From Captain Payton

What a beautiful week it has been so far! Calm seas and 75 & sunny makes for great fishing weather here in beautiful Destin FL. The mingo (vermillion) snapper bite has been as hot as ever, and we are getting more white snapper in the mix now too. Also getting quite a few chocolate chip porgy (very tasty fish) while fishing the reefs! All these guys are holding up on natural bottom and biting chopped Boston mackerel for bait on a two hook rig. Get out there and try it out!

I’m still getting reports of blackfin tuna being caught, but not sure the regularity of the tuna bite right now. Still worth a try to get out there with a crystal minnow and troll it over wrecks and reefs.

It looks like the weather as made it’s turn towards spring and we expect some beautiful sunny days out there on the big pond. We look forward to seeing y’all out there!

Tight lines y’all!
